Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to join our legal team. Our firm focuses on the defense of allegations of medical malpractice. The ideal candidate will support attorneys by organizing medical records, obtaining medical records and other records in discovery, and drafting medical chronologies. The candidate will also assist in managing contact with expert witnesses and providing the materials they need. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining high professionalism. Attention to detail is a must.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research using tools such as Westlaw, as well as researching some social media to assist with gathering relevant information for cases.
- Filing various documents in ProLaw. Draft correspondence to expert witnesses regarding their retention, providing them with records and assisting with scheduling.
- Assist with drafting and responding to written discovery, including interrogatories, production, and admission requests.
- Perform all aspects of obtaining medical records from facilities and employment records, including drafting stipulations for release or handling the process of sending out a subpoena for documents.
- Assist with redacting confidential information from documents submitted to opposing counsel or the Court.
- Draft pleadings for pre-trial filings of ER 904 Statements or Witness and Exhibits Lists.
- Collect documents for production under discovery requests
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department, with a strong preference for working with medical records
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using ProLaw
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
